Town/Location: Arkaroola SA
Caravan Park or Campground: Arkaroola-Mt Painter Sanctuary Resort
Comments: Not a blade of grass to be seen. The caravan park is dusty and dirty but the sites are roomy, the amenities are modern and very clean, the laundry is free, and it's just what you'd expect in the outback. We had no complaints and we'd go back in a second. Margaret and John, September 2005.

Town/Location: Bemm River VIC
Caravan Park or Campground: Bemm River Caravan Park
Comments: Quiet and peaceful and very much off the beaten track. If you're looking for seclusion, this is it. The amenites are old but big and clean and the sites are roomy with open fireplaces. The only drawback was that the camping area was on a slope. Margaret and John, January 2005

Comments: A great place to stay, nicely laid out, lots of room, friendly people. However the amenities are old and the park is right on the Pacific Highway so lots of highway noise at night.

Caravan Park or Campground: Bailey Bar Caravan Park
Comments: A great park and very popular; packed to capacity when we were there. Lots of shade trees and grass, and the amenities are old but very clean and well looked after. Lots of hot water. Away from the main road so no traffic noise and there is happy hour every day in the winter. Margaret and John, May 2003.

Town/Location: Coffs Harbour NSW
Caravan Park or Campground: Bonville Caravan Park
Comments: A large open park. Only a few tourist sites and they are all in the front, right on the highway. Even so, noise was not a problem. The amenities block is old but well maintained, very clean, and the water is hot and there's plenty of it. Our dog was made welcome and when our little granddaughter arrived unexpectedly to stay with us there was no extra charge. We would have no problem staying here again. Margaret and John, October 2005.

Comments: Huge park inside the national park. Lots of grass for camping but the amenities in the camping area left a little to be desired with the toilets some distance away from the showers. The amenities block in the caravan area was quite good. Margaret and John, May 2003

Caravan Park or Campground: Mann River Caravan Park
Comments: In a word, peaceful. Nice relaxing park on the banks of the Mann River. Clean amenities although not very big, and a great swimming pool. On the highway but very little noise from traffic and a long way from the nearest shops. Margaret and John, January 2004

Town/Location: Killarney QLD
Caravan Park or Campground: Queen Mary Falls Caravan Park
Comments: A well laid out park with lots of grass and trees, dog friendly as well. The amenities are modern and clean however an electric pump is used for water and during a severe storm the power went out. No power meant no pump and no pump meant no water. It was a full 24 hours before power was restored. A back-up generator wouldn't go astray. Margaret and John, January 2006

Town/Location: Leigh Creek SA
Caravan Park or Campground: Leigh Creek Caravan Park
Comments: No grass, de-mountable amenities building with communal showers, no office (you have to go to the Mobil garage in town), no caretaker or manager on site, and across the highway from the railway line where coal trains rattle through regularly. Adequate lighting at night was a plus but we've had 2 visits - our first and last. Margaret and John, September 2005

Town/Location: Nelligen NSW
Caravan Park or Campground: Nelligen Park
Comments: Very big park on the river. A huge amount of day visitors as well as campers and very small amenities. And then closing the amenities in the afternoon for cleaning wasn't very smart with that many people there. Not a park we'd care to return to. Margaret and John, January 2005

Town/Location: Orroroo SA
Caravan Park or Campground: Orroroo Caravan Park
Comments: A small park with gravel road and sites with ample room for parking. Amenities are small (2 showers/2 toilets for each of ladies and gents) but are on a par with any 5-star resort. The only drawback was that many truckies stop to use the amenities as well so campers had to wait. Margaret and John, September 2005.
